Sunderland and North Durham Royal Society for the Blind work closely with a wide range of organisations to ensure that services are of the highest standard and help those most in need.
A close working relationship has been established with Sunderland City Council through the Sensory Support Team at Health, Housing and Adult Services and also through Community and Cultural Services. It also works with Durham County Council.
The Society works with Sunderland Eye Infirmary and the Volunteer Bureau.
The new Macular Support Group has been established through the help and advice of the Macular Disease Society.
The Society works closely with Sunderland City Library and Arts Centre in Fawcett Street.
We are a member of Thrive – the National Blind Gardeners Club and work closely with the Royal National Institute for the Blind – RNIB.
Regionally we attend meetings of NALSVI – the National Association of Local Societies for the Visually Impaired.
