On the 25th September 2007 Sunderland and North Durham Royal Society for the Blind celebrated its 130th Anniversary with a Service of Thanksgiving in Sunderland Minster. Over 300 guests attended including Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Tyne and Wear, Mr Nigel Sherlock, OBE, KSt.J, JP and the Mayor and Mayoress of Sunderland.
Children from Benedict Biscop School sang two hymns and members of Sunderland Symphony Choir also took part in the Service. The event was kindly sponsored by the Gentoo Group.
