UK Census 2011 help for Blind and partially sighted people.
Sunderland and North Durham Royal Society for the Blind is offering help to complete the UK 2011 Census, online, to anyone who is blind or partially sighted. The service is available at their office at 8, Foyle Street, Sunderland and anyone wishing to use this service should telephone the office on 0191 5673939.
The Office of National Statistics Census forms are currently arriving at every household and respondents can either complete them by hand or online.
Sunderland and North Durham Royal Society for the Blind is aware that a great many people will have problems completing the forms by hand due to sight loss problems. They are offering help to complete individual Census forms online within the privacy of their office. Forms completed online are welcomed by the Office of National Statistics as handwriting will not need to be deciphered.
Richard Wood, Executive Officer, says, This is a service we can offer to anyone who is blind or partially sighted. We would ask anyone who wishes to take up this service to telephone the office first to make an appointment.
