Living with Sight Loss Courses

Living with Sight Loss Courses

The Society has now held two “Living with Sight Loss” courses at its new premises. Initially these are in conjunction with the RNIB but will, in due course, be run by the Society.

The course is designed to give you, as a newly diagnosed or a newly registered service user, your carers and or family, support and information that will help you with everyday living. It will give you the opportunity to meet other people who are also newly diagnosed or newly registered with an eye condition and to encourage peer and group support.

Relevant professionals, guest speakers and visually impaired people will be on hand to give information and offer you the opportunity to get hands on experience of trying various pieces of equipment that can help you. Hints, tips and practical demonstrations are aimed at encouraging your continued independence whilst giving you the opportunity to meet other people. The sessions are informal and you will be able to ask questions and participate in discussions as we go along. Feedback from previous participants has been extremely positive.
