Our Ten Pin Bowling Teams

During May, our two Ten Pin Bowling teams took part in British Blind Sport’s national championship competition held in Sheffield.

Sunderland Spinners 1 was made up by Darron McCaul, Jim Burns and Alex Ditch.
Sunderland Spinners 2 was made up by Annmarie Dunlavey, Harry Ellis and Andrew Patterson.

Darron McCaul was also the teams mascot!
Sunderland Spinners 2 won their section and were presented with well-earned trophies.
We are delighted to hear that Darron and Jim have qualified for the doubles final to be held in Sheffield on 14th November and we wish them well.
We shall report back on their results in due course!

We would like to invite you to our Blind Tenpin Bowling league.

Why not pop along and meet up with The Sunderland Visually Impaired 10 Pin Bowling Team the ‘Sunderland Spinners’.

The Bowling Teams now meet at Washington Hollywood Bowling Alley.

Anyone interested can telephone Annmarie Dunlavey on 07455905925 for more details.

All are welcome.

It was setup to help visually impaired people to enjoy the sport of tenpin bowling and promote healthy competition between clubs. There is a registration fee, that each person pays to join the league, this is for the awards given out to all members at the end of the season.

Visually impaired people can register to play in the league, also to make it fun for the sighted helpers, we are also allowing them to register to play alongside the visually impaired people they help in the Basic League for a Medal or the Full League for a trophy in their own competition for the Sighted Helpers Cup.

But the name of the game is to have some fun
